Deacons exist to serve the Church so the Pastors can Study & Pray
II. The Requirements of Deacons
Acts 6:3 (KJV) Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.
Men of Honest Report – These were to be men of high degree–men of character and integrity.
Men Full of the Holy Spirit – Every Christian possesses the Holy Spirit, but not every Christian is filled with the Holy Spirit.
Men Full of Wisdom – Wisdom comes from above, and it takes wisdom from above to serve as a Deacon.
III. The Results of Deacons

Why would they do this Wicked Deed? Three Reasons
A. They had No Contentment with their Stuff
B. They had No Control over Self
C. They had No Consideration for the Savior
II. A Severe Punishment
Acts 5:3-6 (KJV) 3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? 4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God. 5 And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things. 6 And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried him out, and buried him.
Their Sin had nothing to do with money, giving or tithing.
Acts 5:4 (KJV) 4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.
Their Sin was lying to the Holy Spirit which is Nothing More than Hypocrisy
